BAM groups are for followers of
Jesus who, with the support of their peers and local church leaders, want to
become great
ambassadors of the Kingdom of God in their daily occupations (2 Cor 5:20).
BAM is
not about:

passive
listening to guest speakers and nothing changes
-
marketplace ministry apart from local church partnership
-
accepting the marginalisation of the church in the marketplace
-
accepting the marginalisation of the marketplace in local churches
-
church
theology - but about Kingdom theology.
BAM is
about:
-
integrating Kingdom influence in the marketplace through people’s work
practices and relationships
-
pastors
and business people working together to take the gospel into the
marketplace
-
providing teaching on biblical principles that build-up and empower the
scattered church in the marketplace
-
using:
“Business as Mission” by Mike Baer as a key text
-
the
scattered church being doers of the word in their daily occupations
-
accountability and sharing the stories within the group
-
extending Kingdom influencing into the 10 domains (below)
-
mentoring/disciplining in the context of people’s daily occupation
-
prayer
and intercession for people at work
-
implementing Biblically based Business Excellence principles as world’s
best work practices
-
overseas small business mentoring as part of IMED (International Micro
Enterprise Development).
