Nationhood and
Jerusalem
-
Israel
became a nation in 1312 BC, two thousand years before the rise of
Islam.
-
Arab
refugees in Israel began identifying themselves as part of a
Palestinian people in 1967, two decades after the establishment of the
Modern State of Israel.
-
Since
the Jewish conquest in 1272 BC the Jews have had dominion over the
land for one thousand years with a continuous presence in the land for
the past 3,300 years.
-
The
only Arab dominion since the conquest in 635 BC lasted no more than 22
years.
-
Around
132-135 AD there was large scale slaughter of the Jews that remained
in Israel, and Jerusalem was destroyed. It was later rebuilt and
re-named "Aelia Capitolina", and Jews were forbidden to go
to Jerusalem. The leader of this takeover then renamed it "Syria
Palestina" in order to undo any connection with the Jews, Israel,
and Jerusalem - but there is no record of a so-called Palestinian
people.
-
For
over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital. Jerusalem has
never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the
Jordanians occupied Jerusalem, they never sought to make it their
capital, and Arab leaders did not come to visit.
-
Jerusalem
is mentioned over 700 times in Tanach, the Jewish Holy Scriptures.
Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the Koran.
-
King
David founded the city of Jerusalem. Mohammed never came to Jerusalem.
-
Jews
pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem.
-
The
Bible records that God determines where people groups should live and
that he gave the land of Canaan to the people of Israel on a permanent
basis:
”From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit
the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the
exact places where they should live” (Acts 17:26).
”The whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, I will give
as an EVERLASTING POSSESSION to you and your descendants after you;
and I will be their God." (Gen 17:8).
"God Almighty appeared to me at in the land of Canaan, and there
he blessed me and said to me, 'I am going to make you fruitful and
will increase your numbers. I will make you a community of peoples,
and I will give this land as an EVERLASTING POSSESSION TO YOUR
DESCENDANTS AFTER YOU” (Gen 48: 3-4).
-
If
you were to take all the Arab lands and put Israel into that same land
mass and then divide it into 1,000 equal parts, then the Arabs already
have 998.5 parts and Israel only has 1.5 parts, or .0015 of the land.
-
About
80% of the Arabs living in the Palestine region came from different
parts of the former Ottoman Empire, to work for the Jews who had
legitimately purchased the land with their own money.
-
The
price the Jews paid for the land in those days was exorbitant. In 1944
the Jews were paying between $1,000 and $1,100 per acre in
"Palestine". In that same year, rich black soil in
mid-Western America was selling for about $110 per acre.
-
As
the Jews developed the land Arabs continued to move from different
parts of the Ottoman Empire in search of a better life. Many of
today's "Palestinians" are recent descendants of those Arabs
who left the land of their own brothers in search of work.
-
In
1948 the Arab refugees were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab leaders
promising to purge the land of Jews. Sixty-eight percent left without
ever seeing an Israeli soldier.
-
The
Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands due to Arab
brutality, persecution and pogroms.
-
The
number of Arab refugees who left Israel in 1948 is estimated to be
around 630,000. The number of Jewish refugees from Arab lands is
estimated to be the same.
-
Arab
refugees were intentionally not absorbed or integrated into the Arab
lands to which they fled, despite the vast Arab territory. Out of the
100,000,000 refugees since World War II, theirs is the only refugee
group in the world that has never been absorbed or integrated into
their own peoples' lands. Jewish refugees were completely absorbed
into Israel.
-
The
Arabs are represented by eight separate nations, not including the
Palestinians. There is only one Jewish nation. The Arab nations
initiated all five wars and lost. Israel defended itself each time and
won.
-
Arafat
masterminded many hijackings. Even four in one day in the 1970's. He
extorted the largest ransom ever from Lufthansa ($5,000,000). He has
hijacked 40 civilian aircraft, 5 passenger ships, caused harm in 30
embassies, diplomatic missions, or schools. He has never apologised or
renounced these actions.
-
The
PLO's Charter still calls for the destruction of the State of
Israel. Israel has given the Palestinians most of the West Bank land,
autonomy under the Palestinian Authority, and has supplied them with
weapons.
-
Under
Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated and the Jews were
denied access to places of worship. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and
Christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people of
all faiths.
The United Nations and Israel
-
The
U.N. voted in the State of Israel in 1948.
-
Since
then of the 175 U.N. Security Council resolutions passed before 1990,
97 were directed against Israel.
-
Of
the 690 General Assembly resolutions voted on before 1990, 429 were
directed against Israel.
-
The
U.N. was silent while 58 Jerusalem Synagogues were destroyed by the
Jordanians.
-
The
U.N. was silent while the Jordanians systematically desecrated the
ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives.
-
The
U.N. was silent while the Jordanians enforced an apartheid-like policy
of preventing Jews from visiting the Temple Mount and the Western
Wall.
-
Israel
is the only member of the U.N. that is not permitted membership to the
security council
-
Israel
has never been permitted membership of the International Red Cross.
