| Notes | Comments from
visiting crew... I spent nearly five hours with them - we went for lunch after the Morning worship (approx 2 hours). They made me extremely welcome. They have close affiliations with St Andrews but come from Baptist roots. The congregation was a mix of Chinese, Philipinos and expatriates. The preaching from Isiah 61 was first rate and delivered by the Youth Pastor, Jimmy Stewart who has been in Hong Kong 15 years. One of the preaching co-ordinators, John Snelgrove was particularly welcoming with his wife, Sandra. Church youth worker Daughin Chan greeted me when I first arrived - he was co-ordinating the music. They are running several teaching and prayer groups per week and at present using the Alpha course. All in all, a wonderful experience with sound teaching, good worship I would say definitely carrying out Our Lord's Commision. |
