Equipping the Saints in the Marketplace

Integrating Faith@Work Workshop

The most common question we hear with regard to being a Christian at work is this: "How do I serve God in my daily occupation?"

This workshop is not about handing out tracts at work or 'bible bashing' colleagues. It is about putting down foundations of excellence that will give you consistent and credible relationships with people who will make a connection between how you live and what you believe in the place where you meet not-yet Christians the most often - the workplace or marketplace.

What is God's purpose for you at work? How does he mandate, equip and connect you to serve him on a daily basis?

This workshop is about developing a theology of work that will inspire and uplift you... bringing a revelation of God given purpose to your work!

Come and find out how your daily occupation is a vital part of caring for the creation, of ministering to others and worshiping God!

AMC is pleased to announce the availability of this interactive marketplace workshop that will train and equip you to be great Ambassadors of the Kingdom of God in your daily occupation (2 Cor 5:20).

The workshop comprises two 1.5 hour workshops that can be run over two separate evenings or on a Saturday morning. The cost is $20 per person and includes the workshop, full colour booklet, handout and CD including the workshop PowerPoint, study notes and talks by key speakers on the subject.

The workshop is interactive, includes small group discussion time around tables and provides opportunity for attendees to write their own workplace mission statement and prayer.

Topics covered include:

Session 1)

  • Why do you work?

  • God cares about what you do with 70% of your waking time Monday to Friday.

  • Where has Jesus sent you?

  • Developing a biblical world view for your marketplace.

  • Foundations for marketplace ministry.

  • God uses ordinary people in extraordinary ways.

  • Three mandates of God for the marketplace.

Session 2)

  • What's your ambition at work?

  • Progressive steps to impact your workplace for Christ.

  • Taking the Holy Spirit to work.

  • Reality check for business.

  • Reality check for church.

  • Christ working through you in your daily occupation.

  • The ABC of ordinary evangelism

  • Be an ambassador where you are.

Feedback from previous workshops:

"Brilliant - so much to learn and so much to apply. I am inspired and can't wait to fulfil my "new" role as Jesus' ambassador. Thanks - well worth the time and dollars!"

"Very motivating! I only work part time, as I have a young child, but I feel the principles can also be applied to my other marketplace of young mums who I see during the rest of the week."

"Personal examples are good. Information given in a practical way. Gave reassurance that the marketplace is reachable."

"This really challenged me to think more about my behaviour at work and how to bring Godly attributes into my workplace so that my colleagues would want to know more about Jesus Christ."

"Excellent! This is just really what I need. I was really despairing of being one of only a few Christians at work; seeing all the worldliness - worldly values so much in my face and very little Christ-likeness. This workshop gives me hope and helps to equip me to be a better servant of Christ."
